Member Boards Connect 2023 is a special educational and networking event designed specifically by and for ABMS Member Board staff. Volunteers and board leadership are also invited to participate, as well as ABMS staff.
**To participate in the afternoon’s events, choose any of the three breakout sessions. This will enroll you in the full day’s educational sessions as well. Be sure to also select the reception from 5:00 to 6:00 pm (CT), exclusively for ABMS and Member Board staff!**
There is no additional fee to attend Member Boards Connect 2023, which is offered in person only. However, to participate you must also register to attend ABMS Conference 2023 either in-person or virtually.

1:30 – 3:30 pm (CT): Welcome, Introduction, and Panel Discussion Operationalizing Continuing Certification Standards at the Staff Level
Member Boards Connect 2023 begins with a panel presentation followed by a facilitated discussion on how ABMS Member Boards are preparing to implement the ABMS Standards for Continuing Certification. Attendees will better understand: • Overview of the ABMS Standards for Continuing Certification • Baseline self-assessment data • Three board examples on their lessons learned, standards implementation, and what insights and challenges they have identified
3:45 – 5:00 pm (CT) Wearing Multiple Hats — Small Board Operations and What Everyone Can Learn This discussion will be facilitated by representatives of small ABMS Member Boards: Molly Yanchulis, Manager of Certification and Assessment, American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics; Chelsey Williams, Director of Operations, American Board of Allergy and Immunology; and Patrick Murphy, Program Coordinator, American Board of Nuclear Medicine.
The session is open to anyone interested in learning about their common challenges and interests. Attendees are encouraged to bring struggles and successes to share with the group for input.
